Parabola Films was founded by Sarah Spring and Selin Murat in order to bring critical filmmaking voices to a broad audience.

Ariel (2013) shot in Mendoza, Argentina is the story of a man’s poetic journey to rebuild his mind and body after a terrible accident; Jeppe on a Friday (2012) in Johannesburg, South Africa and À St-Henri, le 26 août in Montreal, Quebec (2011) showcase local filmmakers who simultaneously documented stories in one neighbourhood over the course of a single day. Parabola’s films tell intimate and compelling tales from South Africa to Argentina, Quebec to Colombia to Japan. We are committed to supporting artists with a distinct visual and narrative approach and love films that push the boundaries of documentary storytelling.
